About Us

Founded in June 2005, the Commonwealth Peoples’ Association of Uganda (CPA-UG) was duly registered as an NGO in December 2005 No. S. 5914/6156 as a peoples’ organization, non-partisan, charitable organization based in Kampala. The Commonwealth Peoples’ Association of Uganda, (CPA-UG) an autonomous Commonwealth Society, affiliated to the Royal Commonwealth Society founded in 1868. www.rcsint.org CPA Uganda is a member to several local and international organization such as Kabissa an NGO promoting the use of ICT4D (www.kabissa.org) and it works in partnership with international NGOs such as the Royal Commonwealth Society (www.rcsint.org) UK, the Commonwealth Policy Studies Unit (CPSU) an independent think-tank in London, under the UK Department for Education to pilot the setting up of Commonwealth Clubs in schools in England. The key aim is to encourage young people to engage with the Commonwealth, to learn more about the Commonwealth and each other, and to support global citizenship (www.globalgateway.org/commonwealthclubs, www.cpsu.org.uk), Taking IT Global (www.takingitglobal.org) a youth network that based in Canada promoting ICT4D for young people worldwide, Philippine Resources for Sustainable Development (www.prsdi.org ) that works to mainstream sustainable development across all sectors in Philippine society and the Korean Agency for Digital Opportunity & Promotions (KADO)/ KIV Program an IT agency of the Republic of Korea that sends IT Experts/interns to developing countries to empower communities with IT skills in micro- technoprises (https://www.kado.or.kr/engkado) At the national level, the Association works in partnership with CSOs/NGOs like I-Network (www.i-network.or.ug) a national network of individuals and organizations that acts as a platform for sharing knowledge and information on applying ICTs for equitable national development and LIIDA (www.liida.org) a private sector ICT player in the health sector among others.
