With support from MS Uganda, CPA Uganda held its first Training of Trainers workshop with the theme “Let’s say no to Corruption; reaching out to young people to achieve the MDGs in Uganda” from 4th-5th July 2008 in Kampala to equip young people with advocacy skills in its fight against corruption in educational institutions.
The purpose of this programme is to undertake education campaigns to make corruption the most hated vice in Uganda and to reach out to young people in Ugandan education institutions through information dissemination about corruption. This school programme will help to reinforce the Governments stand against corruption and abuse of office in order to make the sector to become compliant with the MDGs and the revised PEAP Framework aimed at enhancing the countries development agenda in three district of the country that is; Wakiso, Masindi and Mpigi in nine (9) selected schools for four month (June-October 2008). The training that attracted 20 young participants was opened by the Director of Education and Corruption Prevention in the IGG’s office who represented the Inspector General of Government was also attended representatives from MS Uganda, Education and Foreign Affairs ministries and the Chairperson of CPA Uganda, Prof. George B. Kirya.
